Happy Memorial Day!

To celebrate the Memorial Day weekend, I have a very special card for you! It is sooo cute! Let me get right to it and show you my card. Enjoy!

I came up with the idea for the card a couple of days ago. As I was creating it, I thought about how cute it would be for the boy to hold a flag, specifically one of those paper ones on a toothpick that you stick in cupcakes. Thought it would be so easy to find ... not! At least not out here in the boonies. The quote came to mind ... Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore ... or in this case, Tina, we are not in the metroplex anymore! No Hobby Lobby to go to, who would have most assuredly had these. I went to Dollar General, Family Dollar, Brookshires, which is our largest grocer and as a last resort WalMart. Last resort mostly because it is just a pain in the you know what but I guess I should have gone there first - because that is where I found them - I got the one LAST package! Yea! Yes, I know I could have made one, but you know how it is when you get an idea in your head! To me, it totally makes the card complete. What do you think? Send me a comment and let me know what you think!

Tina Tip - Don't be afraid to use just part of a stamp. In the case of the God Bless America sentiment, I pulled the whole image, which was a flag with the sentiment straight across the bottom, off the wood mount and cut off just these words, and even cut the America from the God Bless so they would fit into my circle. Or remember, you can also just ink up the part that you want. I chose the cutting in this case because I figured I will use the words more than the flag image and it would make it easier to fill my need this time. Either way works!

Hoppy Birthday!

Hello! What items give you inspiration? Frequently, I am inspired to create a card by looking through my box of colorful scrapbook papers. But this time ... it was all about the flowers! You see, last weekend, one of the items I purchased a the scrapbook store in Arkansas, was a package of patterned flowers from Hero Arts. I combined these flowers with other flowers I already had, pretty pattern paper, cardstock and stamps and my card was born! The frog stamp is kinda silly but pretty cute! I might have to pick me up some googly eyes somewhere for the next time I stamp the frog. I think that would be a hoot! Here is my card for the day... enjoy!

Recipe:

Paper - TPC Studio Woodland Line Whimsy Mini Dot, Cardstock, Lime, Light Blue, White

Hedgehog Hello!

With my title, I bet you can guess I stamped one of my hedgehog stamps! Yes, you are right! This last weekend when I was in Arkansas, my step daughter took me to a scrapbook store and of course, I purchased some more paper! Two pieces I picked out that coordinate with each other, had grays and silvers among the other colors so I was thinking what stamps I would have that I would color in gray and my hedgehog collection came to mind! I love the layout. It was cased from one of the many blogs I frequent. Here is my card ... enjoy!

Do you like the added flower accent flower piece with the hello? You see, there was just too much empty space in the corner of the circle and also I was thinking I wanted to bring a little of the floral background paper to the front, so this is what I cam up with! I used a sizzix die for the flower. And popped it up with a black circle behind. I love how it came out! Don't you?

Recipe:

Paper - Floral and Stripes by SEI Poppy Line, Cardstock White, Wine, Black
Stamps - Hedgehog with Snail by Penny Black, Hello by Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol

Dies/Punches - Nestibilites Classic Scallop Circle and Circle 3 sizes, Sizzix Die Flowers Wild

Scoops of Love & Thanks!

Hello! We are back in town from our trip to Arkansas to visit my hubby's daughter, son n law, and the little ones. We really had a great time. The grandkids are soooo cute! Ethan is 3 and Olivia is 4, almost 5. One of the main reasons why we went is to attend Olivia's graduation from Pre-K. So fun to see all the little ones in their cap and gowns! I took some pictures and of course, I can't resist showing you a few! Today, I got a chance to go to my "shack" and create a card to send to them to say thanks for the wonderful weekend. So, let me show you my card first and then the pics. Enjoy!

Birthday Creativity!

I had a wonderful 50th birthday. For today's post, I wanted to share with you some of the creations that I received for my birthday. My friend, Eileen, went all out! She not only made cupcakes for my party, including 2 flavors (my favorite lemon, and my hubby's favorite German chocolate), but she also made stamped toothpick toppers, a banner for my craft room, a decorated bag, a card, and a beaded necklace and earrings to match! WOW! She doesn't have a blog so I am showing off her creations here. I also have other stamped cards I received, as well as a very funny over the hill gift. Enjoy!

These were the toppers Eileen made for the cupcakes. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of the wonderful cupcakes. We had camera trouble, so the pics we thought we took, were not there!
This was the decoration on my bag created by Eileen. Too cute!

The beaded jewelry ... in my colors!

This is the banner Eileen made me for my craft room. This pic shows it hanging in my room! I do have a funny store about this banner. She actually made it at a crop last weekend, while I was sitting across from her. I thought she was making it for her craft room ... not mine! I can tell you I am one lucky girl, because it is so awesome! See below for the detail of each pennant letter.

Now, I must show you my curtain that is in my room. Can you believe what a perfect match it is?
Next, is Eileen's card she made me.
This next card is from Karolyn.
Next card is from Diana.
Debbie sent me this one in the mail.

And Teresa had this hanging on her gift which is in the next pic.
I thought this just look creative, with the plant, the can, and the gloves attached.
And then there some fun over the hill stuff...
The best over the hill gift ... I opened this little bag first and found 2 balls and "lovely" pom pom socks ...
To go with MY NEW WALKER complete with decorations, a pinwheel, and a horn! Thanks Cathy for making me laugh!

I hope you enjoyed seeing all my creative gifts I received for my birthday. Thanks to all. I am truly very blessed.

Happy Stamping!

P.S. My hubby & I are heading up to Arkansas in the morning to go see his daughter and the grandkids so I won't have another post for this week. I have been working on thank you cards for my birthday gifts. I will show you my card when I get back in town.

Texas Tues-Step!

I will be participating today in my first Texas Tues-Step. For this week's Texas creation, I decided instead of just making a card, I would like to make a little mini book to house the pictures of the Texas wildflowers I photographed recently. It came out great! I originally thought I would do some kind of chipboard book, but in the end, I just went with two colors of cardstock, all cut out with the nestiblities labels die number 8. A lighter blue was adhered to a darker blue making the pages thicker. Then I used my Bind It All to add the binding. And last but not least (of course!), I embellished each page with some kind of bauble, or rhinestone. All stamps are from Deadbeat Designs, my favorite company for Texas images. Oh, I didn't have a stamp that said "wildflowers" so I used some Thickers stickers. They have a fabric feel ... kinda cool! Tombows and a little spritz of water was used to color the bluebonnet on the front cover. The Texas punches are from Punch Bunch and the star cut outs are from a Cuttlebug Die. Here's my little book. I hope you enjoy my stamping and my photos!

So, every 1st and 3rd Tuesday, you can check out my Texas Tues-Step creation. I will try to add some links next time to other blogs participating so you can see their creations too!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow. I am sharing with you the creative gifts I received for my birthday this last weekend. Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday!

Hello! I know you only saw two posts from me this last week, but in those posts you got 6 cards! Who could complain about that? I have one more to show for the week. You see, today, the 16th, is both my husbands and my birthday. It is a big one for me ... the big 50! I know all my ex-customers are thinking of me this month because every year in business, if they brought me a hand stamped card, they received a birthday discount equal to my age. Shucks, no 50 percent this year! But I do have a card to show you. No, I didn't make one for myself, but I did make one for my hubby. It is his 56th! He is a music collector and has all kinds of lps, 45s, CDs, etc. Recently, I was out in his music room and he had a stack of 45s that he said weren't worth keeping so I asked if I could have a couple. My idea was born! All I had to do is find out if the crop a dile would punch through the 45 without it cracking! Success! Let me show what I made for his card ...

I love the way it came out! I hope he likes it! I think it is too fun!

I am not sure if you'll have a post from me on Monday, but for sure on Tuesday. Because I am participating in the Texas Tues-Step! A couple of weeks ago, I saw a few posts on the 1st Tuesday, with Texas themed cards and I guess a group was formed. I am not actually in the group yet ... but I hope to be when I link my creation on Tuesday! I say creation, because I didn't just make a card, I made a little mini book and it is was finished last night! Check back in Tuesday to see it!

Happy Stamping!
